Substance Abuse Trainee

Ms. Galey has worked in the mental health field since 2008, working in various setting that include: out-patient behavioral health, outdoor-therapeutic programs, and schools. She has received training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies, Motivational Interviewing, substance abuse, Person-Centered Therapies, and Mindfulness. Her approach involves empathy, non-judgmental, genuine caring and acceptance, as well as being authentic and encouraging. Ms. Galey uses evidenced-based, brain-based treatment approaches when working with children, adolescents, and adults; she also works with a wide-range of issues including: substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma (PTSD), depression, anxiety, self-esteem/self-empowerment, co-occurring disorders, relationships, and behavioral problems.

Ms. Galey graduated in May 2016 from Walden University with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in forensic counseling. She is currently working on her licensure in the state of West Virginia.

In her spare time, Ms. Galey is a loving mother and avid outdoorswoman. She loves whitewater kayaking, hiking, camping, skydiving and running the various trails around Harpers Ferry. Ms. Galey loves spending time with her family including her two dogs Kai and Charlie, and exercising her passion for photography.

Ms. Galey’s current focus is with clients at The Renovo Center, LLC and the Berkeley Day Report Center in Martinsburg, WV.
